IDE2CF-B1 jest adapterem kart pamięci typu compact flash o wielkości 3.5” podłączanym pod interfejs IDE.IDE2CF-B1 maja zainstalowany system który nie wymaga posiadania żadnych innych napędów co przez co może być używany jako główny nośnik danych. W komputerze PC adapter zachowuje się jak zwykły HDD z całą jego strukturą (cylinders, heads i sectors). Po zainstalowaniu systemu operacyjnego jego start może odbywać się z karty CF.
