What is the optical power range for the FiberTechnic® ONU?

For the EPON standard, the receiving optical power should be in the range of -3dbm to -27dbm.
For the GPON standard, the receiving optical power should be in the range of -8dbm to -28dbm.


What is SFU?
SFU (Single Family Unit)
SFU is mainly used for single home users in FTTH scenarios and regular terminals that only support broadband access. In general, it has 1 to 4 Ethernet interfaces and provides Ethernet / IP services. Built-in optical or IAD equipment can support CATV or VoIP services. Nowadays often used in conjunction with home routers to provide greater business capabilities.

What is HGU?

HGU (Home Gateway Unit)
HGU is mainly used for single home users in FTTH scenarios. Compared to SFU, it is the equivalent of a home gateway with a PON uplink interface. It typically has 2 ~ 4 Ethernet interfaces, 1 WLAN interface and 1 USB interface. It provides Ethernet / IP services, through built-in optical or IAD devices it can support CATV or VoIP business services and supports TR-069 remote management.


What is MDU?

MDU (Multi Dwelling Unit)
MDU is used in FTTB / FTTC / FTTCab mode for multiple home users with broadband access terminal functions, typically with at least 4 interfaces on the user side, including: Ethernet interfaces, ADSL2 + Interface or VDSL2 interface to provide Ethernet / IP services. In broadcasting operators' network applications, due to differences in business content, it usually only includes an Ethernet interface for PON + LAN access.


What is MTU?

MTU (Multi-tenant Unit)
MTU is mainly used for multiple corporate users in an FTTB scenario or multiple individual users in the same enterprise. It has the function of a broadband access terminal and has multiple Ethernet interfaces (usually at least eight), E1 interfaces and POTS interfaces and provides Ethernet / IP services, TDM services and VoIP services (embedded IAD).


What is SBU?

SBU (Single Business Unit)
SBU is used mainly in FTTO scenarios, separating businesses from business users in the same office. It supports the functions of a broadband access terminal in a telecommunications operational network, typically with an Ethernet interface, E1 interface, VOIP interface, etc. to provide Ethernet / IP and TDM services.


What is the TX optical power and RX receiving sensitivity of FiberTechnic® ONUs?

For GPON:
OLT supports classes: B, C+, C++
Transmission length:20KM
PON port speed: Downstream 2.5 Gbps | Upstream 1.25 Gbps
Wavelength: TX 1310nm, RX 1490nm
TX optical power: 0.5~7dBm
RX sensitivity: -28dBm
Optical power: -8dBm

For EPON:
OLT supports class B+
Transmission length:20KM
PON port speed: symmetrical, 1.25 Gbps
Wavelength: TX 1310nm, RX 1490nm
TX optical power: 0.5~5dBm
RX sensitivity: -27dBm
Optical power: -3dBm


What is OLT?

The OLT is an important terminal device that can be connected to a front-end switch via network cable and converted into optical signals. Like the ONU, it is an integrated photoelectric device that has three functions:
1) Transmission of Ethernet data to the ONU
2) Initialising and monitoring the range determination process and registering range information
3) Allocating bandwidth to the ONU, i.e. controlling the ONU's start time for sending data and the size of the sending window


What is ONU?
ONU (Optical Network Unit) terminal optyczny przeznaczony do sieci FTTX ma dwie funkcje:
1) Selektywny odbiór transmisji wysyłanej przez OLT
2) Wysyłanie odpowiedzi do OLT jeśli dane są potrzebne
Dane Ethernet, które użytkownik musi wysłać są gromadzone i buforowane, a dane są wysyłane do OLT zgodnie z przypisanymi szczelinami czasowymi wysyłania.
